The best fragrances of 2021

Every final text begins with a lament about how difficult it is to choose the best from a good selection. In 2021, there were even more good perfumes than usual, although the overall number of launches was 20 percent lower due to COVID-19 and the resulting logistical problems and the general economic downturn. In the traditional luxury category, I'd recommend Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever men . Fresh, cheerful, with seaweed and grapefruit, and without a hint of toxic masculinity. I stumbled upon it in a store and froze in surprise. Good! Excellent, even! Giorgio Armani Absolutely Stronger With You , with a hint of masculinity but also a healthy dose of humor, rum, and cola, is a touch of masculinity. These two inspire hope that men's fragrances can change someday. In the women's luxury category, I'd praise the berry chypre Izia la nuit Sisley . I considered buying it for 15 seconds. Cedar Violet Aerin is the embodiment of the idea of comfortable fragrances. ...

Siberian Wellness cosmetics with rose

I tried the new rose cosmetics line from Siberian Wellness, and I insist it's a must-have for all rose lovers. I'll be stocking up and giving them away like crazy. It's a limited edition, which means if the general public doesn't appreciate the scarlet, green, berry, and honey roses, there won't be a reissue. And they won't, as we all know roses are viewed with suspicion in our country.

Siberian Wellness cosmetics with rose

The most vibrant rose and the most pleasant texture are found in the Siberian Wellness Rose and Hyaluronic Acid Body Mousse. I don't like greasy, thick textures in general, especially for the body, but this one is a light, airy cloud. The foam from the built-in foaming agent spreads with a single stroke and is absorbed instantly. My skin feels silky, slightly moist, and pleasantly relaxed after using the mousse. As for the scent, it opens with honey, strawberry juice, and the freshness of geranium, developing into a fluorescent, vibrant rose with a hint of coriander, which you'd expect to be a true chypre. After about 30 minutes, the rose transforms into the oriental beauty of Rose de Taif Perris Monte Carlo. This rosy splendor lasts from evening until morning, or from morning until midday. I think the scent could have been half as strong, but it would still be wonderful.

The active ingredients in the mousse include rose and green tea hydrosols, hyaluronic acid, raspberry and hibiscus extracts, and strawberry juice. I'll have time to evaluate how this works in the long term. In the short term, I'm simply looking for a comfortable sensation after application and until my next shower. And what a scent!

Ingredients (INCI): aqua (water), glyceryl glucoside, C12-13 pareth-9, hydroxyethylurea, pentylene glycol, trehalose, rosa damascena distillate, benzyl alcohol, hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract, camellia sinensis leaf water, tocopheryl acetate, parfum, sodium benzoate, sodium hyaluronate, maltodextrin, benzoic acid, dehydroacetic acid, fragaria vesca fruit extract, rubus idaeus leaf extract, citrus paradisi peel oil, citronellol, geraniol.

Siberian Wellness Rose and Witch Hazel Shower Foam also comes in a jar with foaming agent, making it very economical and lightweight. It spreads easily, rinses off easily, and doesn't leave a tight or filmy feeling on the skin. The scent is more subtle and fresh than the mousse, with more green notes, geranium, and the scent of real rose water. It smells like something very healthy and fresh from the garden. The active ingredients include lactic acid, rose and witch hazel hydrosols, and plantain, sage, and linden extracts.

Ingredients (INCI): Aqua (water), disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, disodium cocoyl glutamate, sorbitol, cocoyl methyl glucamide, rosa damascena distillate, glyceryl glucoside, sodium PCA, L-lactic acid, parfum, sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, hamamelis virginiana leaf water, sodium benzoate, trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate, salvia officinalis leaf extract, plantago major leaf extract, tilia americana flower extract, maltodextrin, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid, sorbic acid, geraniol, citronellol.

The Siberian Wellness Rose and Berry Face Soufflé Cream has perhaps the most discreet fragrance in this series, but it's also very long-lasting. It's again loaded with rose water, geranium, bitter peony, and red berries with a touch of honey. The texture is a bit runny for a tube, so you need to squeeze it out carefully. It's hard to judge after just a few days of use, but the cream is pleasant and lightweight, and noticeably soothes the skin. I haven't noticed any super-hydrating effects yet, but no single product can combat dryness and flaking in the spring. The active ingredients in the cream include D-panthenol, vitamin E, rose and green tea hydrosols, strawberry juice, raspberry extract, and rose wax.

Composition: (INCI): aqua (water), isoamyl cocoate, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, crambe abyssinica seed oil phytosterol esters, glyceryl glucoside, pentylene glycol, cetearyl alcohol, cetearyl glucoside, hydroxyyethylurea, rosa damascena distillate, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP copolymer, camellia sinensis leaf water, phenoxyethanol, panthenol, sodium stearoyl glutamate, tocopheryl acetate, parfum, rosa damascena flower cera, chlorphenesin, fragaria vesca fruit extract, ethylhexylglycerin, hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract, rubus idaeus leaf extract, maltodextrin, L-lactic acid, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid, citronellol, geraniol.

The Siberian Wellness Rose and Berry Facial Scrub is also a bit runny, so squeeze it out slowly. It smells absolutely magical, like raspberries and the gothic, minor-key rose Gucci "A Song for the Rose." The scrub uses a natural loofah as an abrasive, and green tea extract and rose hydrosol soften it. The scrub is effective and gentle, and doesn't irritate even a sensitive skin like me. It doesn't dry out my skin, cleanses pores well, and even tightens it a bit. It rinses off easily, leaving a pleasant sensation afterward. Its active ingredients include lactic acid, rose and green tea hydrosols, strawberry juice, and raspberry extract.

Ingredients: (INCI): aqua (water), disodium cocoyl glutamate, glycerin, pentylene glycol, cocoyl methyl glucamide, hydrated silica, rosa damascena distillate, glyceryl glucoside, L-lactic acid, dehydroxanthan gum, parfum, sodium PCA, acacia senegal gum (and) xanthan gum, camellia sinensis leaf water, sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, luffa cylindrica fruit powder, chlorphenezin, fragaria vesca fruit extract, citrus paradisi peel oil, rubus idaeus leaf extract, hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid, sorbic acid, maltodextrin, citronellol, geraniol, linalool, CI 45410.

The only product I wasn't thrilled with was the Siberian Wellness Rose and Berry Foaming Cleanser. It's just a foam. It's convenient that it has a built-in foaming agent, it's economical, and it removes medium-wear makeup well, even mascara. However, I found it took longer to remove than usual—a soapy residue lingers on my skin for a long time, and its scent is the most "pharmacy-like" and geranium-like of all the roses. But considering the price tag, all the downsides can be forgiven.

Ingredients (INCI): Aqua (water), disodium cocoyl glutamate, cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, sorbitol, rosa damascena distillate, glyceryl glucoside, sodium PCA, benzyl alcohol, L-lactic acid, camellia sinensis leaf water, sodium benzoate, parfum, benzoic acid, trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate, dehydroacetic acid, fragaria vesca fruit extract, rubus idaeus leaf extract, hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract, maltodextrin, sodium chloride, geraniol, citronellol.

To summarize: definitely try the mousse and scrub. If you love roses, you won't be able to stop yourself. The shower foam is good, and the cream also has a place in your makeup bag. The foam is optional.
