Supercritique Les Eaux Primordiales

If you are aiming to try the Supercritique Les Eaux Primordiales collection, here is a cheat sheet from a person who has been working towards these fragrances for many years. And yes, supercritique is not a perfume for supercritics, but a process of creating especially authentic raw materials that most closely convey a living aroma. Among my favorites is Champaca . Indian jasmine with a banana-yellow sweet core, whose sweetness melts in the poisonous milky juice of some tropical trees. The texture is more like whipped egg whites on a tiny cake. You want to pick them up with the tip of your tongue. Champaca Les Eaux Primordiales, Aldehydes, grapefruit, bergamot, jasmine, champaca, cyclamen, plum, labdanum, cedar In the courtyard of the house in Milan where I lived during the Esxence exhibition, there was a gardenia bush with a single white flower. It greeted me at dusk with a cool, slightly mushroomy aroma, and even after a whole day of smells, it stopped me in my tracks. Gardenia Les E...

Camille Leguay Parfums

In 2023, perfumer Camille Leguay released five fragrances dedicated to energies, feelings and thoughts.

Her name is not well-known. She worked at Mane, signed a couple of fragrances for Lorga and BDK and suddenly went freelance.

Camille Leguay's project has a lot of natural raw materials, not stock ones, but her own bottles in the shape of an inkwell, created at Atelier Dinand by Pierre and Jules Dinand. The cardboard of the boxes is made from recycled and recyclable materials to harm the environment less (the cardboard is bad). The boxes have lovely watercolors by the artist and art therapist Amelie de Rafelis.

In short, Camille Leguay Parfums is a beautiful, thoughtful, expensive and with these "energies" a very modern brand.

And what about the perfume? The perfume is sweet and delicate, in tune with subtle spiritual vibrations and does not hurt others.

Camille Leguay Parfums

Au-delà des rêves – mimosa and sea salt. Abkhazia in February. The honeyed scent of blooming mimosa trees cuts through the nervous wind from the sea. Splashes of salty surf, iodine of washed-up seaweed and yellow pollen. There is more yellow and powdery at the very beginning, and in the morning the blotter smells as if I dipped it in the sea.

Mimosa here, which is rare, does not turn into cucumbers or a powder compact. It does not turn at all, remaining a flower to the end.

Au-delà des rêves, Camille Leguay,

Aquatics, lotus, iris, mimosa

La Nuit de Temps Camille Leguay – dry shortbread pie with raspberry jam, vanilla condensed milk, smoke and cashmeran. A contrast of cozy, gourmand scents and disturbing darkness. I don’t really like what’s staring at me from this darkness, but fortunately it doesn’t stare for long. The bottom line is resinous vanilla.

La Nuit de Temps Camille Leguay,

Pink pepper, incense, vanilla

L’Arbre du monde doesn’t warm up fully on the blotter. On the skin I smell anise and sweet black cardamom, unfiltered pineapple juice with orange and red grapefruit, a mineral cold smell of dry earth and a tart spirit of vetiver. All in all, it’s a relaxed, fresh glass for everyday wear.

L’Arbre du monde, Camille Leguay,

Tropical cocktail, ylang, cardamom, vetiver, cedar

Principe Feminin Camille Leguay is a classic but modernized chypre with the scent of expensive soap, peaches and leather. Juicy fruity Profumo Acqua Di Parma, pale rose and sad carnation Mitsouko Guerlain and feline grace La Panthere Parfum Cartier come to mind. Each scent has a touch, in total it is something independent, comfortable and just a little bit bitchy.

Principe Feminin, Camille Leguay,

Bergamot, rose, jasmine, patchouli, moss

Principe Masculin Camille Leguay after a night on the blotter smelled like I was in an office, and in the office there was a meeting, and there were gathered a fashionista in Ganymede, a conservative in Terre d’Hermes, a curmudgeon in some budget fougère from L’Etoile, a greenhorn in Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Marine and the head of the transport department in Eau d’Ikar Sisley.

Principe Masculin Camille Leguay

Citron, lavender, geranium, vetiver, moss
